1 John 4:15
"Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God."
Imagine that you and God, the Father, were one? Could anyone or anything improve on that? Your success would be assured. You would have perfect direction in life no time wasted, no efforts repeated to correct errors, no resources lost for lack of knowledge of application! You would be as assured of having good success as was Joshua when God instructed him to meditate on His Word both day and night so that he would be able to do all that His Word contained or instructed.
But here in 1 John 4:15 we see how much better the New Covenant is than the Old. By confessing that Jesus is the Son of God, God actually abides in us, and we in Him! There is no failure or shortness in anything if He who created all abides in us.
Can you picture a bully chasing a weakling to his home to see the weakling’s powerful father sitting on the front porch? 1 John 4: 15 is better than that! The would-be weakling does not run from anyone or anything---there is no weakness where the Father is! Wherever the Believer goes, the Father goes! And we are careful where we go as we desire to make Him at home in us.
1 John 4:15 tells us God dwells in us and we in Him as we confess that Jesus is the Son of God? And if He dwells or abides in us and we in Him, we have whatever we ask of Him as His Word says! 1 John 4:15 conveys a powerful message and we have designed a powerful witnessing tool based on this Scripture. 1 John 4:15 is a confirmation of Jesus' statement to the Apostle Peter (Matthew 16:16-18) that upon the knowledge and confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, He would build His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
