As I understand It – 1 John 1:7 (NIV)

7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

For Your Consideration – The Pope

February 13, 2016

What I don’t understand is why we bow to the Pope. We are a protestant country, one that disavows the Pope and his authority. (Should the term Pope even be capitalized?) Why do we recognize the Holy See? And why did our Congress entertain the Pope’s pronouncements that our nation like others had erred in refusing to pledge allegiance to Rome?

Why did our president honor him with official recognition? (Why does he provide official recognition for anything gay or the transgendered for that matter?)

What then is the hierarchy; the Pope, then Jesus, then God? Or is it Jesus, the Pope, and then God?

Who should we be praying to, or through? Who are we? Whom do we serve?

Does the Pope live here, in us or even in the U.S.?

John 5:44 (ESV) 44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

John 19:15 (ESV) 15 They cried out, “Away with him, away with him, crucify him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar.”
